Data Collection

Gnash collects no data. None. Zero. All information you enter into Gnash—your logs, reflections, patterns, goals, and progress—stays exclusively on your device.

I cannot access it, I do not store it on servers, and I never transmit it anywhere.

How It Works

Gnash stores all data locally on your iPhone using SwiftData, Apple’s on-device database technology.

No user accounts, no servers or cloud storage, no network requests, no analytics or tracking, no advertising or sharing. The app works completely offline.

Your data belongs to you and lives only on your device.

What We Don’t Do

I don’t collect, store, or transmit your personal information. No behavior tracking, no data sharing, no analytics, and no cookies.

Gnash does not require accounts, does not access your contacts, photos, or location, and does not send data to the cloud.

There are no backend servers—nothing to hack, leak, or subpoena.

Your Data, Your Control

Since all data stays on your device: You can export your data anytime from within the app. Deleting the app removes all your data permanently.

I cannot recover your data if you lose your device—because I never had it. No account means no data tied to your identity.

This is privacy by design.

Device Sensors

Gnash uses your device’s accelerometer to create a physics-based visual interface. This data is processed entirely on your device and powers only interactive animations.

The accelerometer data is never stored or transmitted and exists only while the app is open.

Children’s Privacy

Gnash is intended for users trying to quit nicotine. While we collect no data from any users, the app is designed for adults and carries an age rating based on tobacco/nicotine content.

Changes to This Policy

If I ever change how Gnash handles privacy, I'll update this policy and the “Last Updated” date above.

Since Gnash collects no data, any changes will be communicated through an app update if they occur.
